Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, at all camps you are required to bring your own mucking out equipment. You are responsible to ensure your stable is left clean on departure.

It depends on camp venue please see below –

Somerford Park – Yes Haylage only

Lindores – Yes Hay only

Morpeth Camp – Yes Haylage only

This depends on which venue you are coming to, please see below –

Somerford Park – You get 2 x shavings included in camp price, more can be ordered at camp if required.

Lindores – Straw bedding included in the cost

Morpeth – All stables are rubber matted with Sawdust beds, you can bring your own extra shavings if you wish

Yes all bedding must be removed and put in the muck heap on departure.

Stable deposits will be taken on arrival and returned once the stable has been checked on departure.

We are trialling a mucking out system this year, that will hopefully help.

To book your camp space please click on the camps tab at the top of the website. Following this please select which camp you wish to attend, fill out the booking form and secure with the deposit. Confirmation will then be sent via email.

Once you’ve booked your camp space you will receive a booking conformation email to confirm your space. At the first payment instalment (10 weeks prior to camp) you will receive an email with an info pack as well as a link inviting you to a private Facebook group for that camp. It is your responsibility to join this group and follow the camp info. In this group all camp info will be posted including timetable, extra activities, food discussions etc.

Hook up must be booked directly with the venue –

Somerford Park – 01260299888

Lindores – equestrian@lindores.co.uk (limited spaces)

Morpeth – Speak to Yasmin (limited spaces)

Yes all venues do have somewhere to charge your phone however there will be limited sockets. It may be worth looking at a portable power bank, this is what I use whilst away at camps and it is a game changer!

Unfortunately the farm ride is an extra charge at  Somerford Park and must be booked direct through Somerford Park.

Lindores camps have the Hack is included in the cost.

Yes your horse MUST be up to date with vaccines and they will be checked on arrival.

Please read below –

Following the first vaccination the second needs to be given 21 to 92 days later. The third vaccination needs to be given 150 to 215 days after the second and then booster vaccinations given annually, within 365 days .

Yes you are welcome to bring a plus one to camp, however there is a £5 charge per head to go towards the pavillion facilities.

If your plus one requires food there is an additional charge of £50 per head (this is optional)

There are two payment options available, which you will select on booking.

You can either pay in full 10 weeks prior to camp or you can split the final balance into two payments.

Each event page has a FAQ section which show payment dates for that specific camp.

I am hoping this will help my clients by making the camps more affordable instead of doing a large one off payment.

For example – Booking deposit £70 non refundable (secures your space)

First instalment – £140 (10 weeks prior)

Second instalment – £130 (6 weeks prior)

If invoices are not paid within 48hours, your space will be offered to those on the waitlist and be filled.

No – unfortunately no dogs are allowed at camps!! You will be asked to leave if you bring your dog.

I aim to post the camp timetable the week after the final balance has been paid so approx 5 weeks prior to camp. However this timescale may vary and updates will be posted in the camp group.

If you are unable to attend camp please let me know ASAP by completing the cancellation form below.

http://yhequestrian.com/cancellation/

If you are unable to attend due to a lame horse / rider illness or injury you must inc a valid vets/doctors certificate for horse/rider. If your space is FILLED you will receive a credit note to rebook at a later date less a £30 admin fee. A coupon code will be sent to you to use.

If you are unable to attend due to any other reason your full deposit will be lost. If you have paid any extra money after your deposit, and your space is FILLED all other monies paid will be given a credit note to use at a later date.

The sooner you inform me the more likely I am to fill the space which means you are more likely to receive a credit note. If you leave it last minute I will be unable to fill the space and this means monies will be lost.

I do try my very best to fill your spaces!

Yes – All venues have toilets and showers on site.

Accomodation is up to you and is your own responsibility. A lot of people sleep in tents, or trailers/ lorries. (Its more fun if you stay on site to socialise)

Tents are available to hire at Somerford Park by Hire2Camp – this is your responsibility to book yourself. You can find them on Facebook.

Somerford Park have recently put in some camping pods which are available to book, you must book direct through somerford office. Please be aware these are very popular and normally sell out so early booking is advised.

Each camp is different and camp arrival time will be in the camp description so please check. This is normally the arrival times –

Somerford Park Camps – 12noon on the first day

Lindores – 12noon on the first day

Morpeth – 3pm on the first day

No there is no stable plan – it is first come first served. I find this is the easiest way rather than doing a stable plan.

You are required to have public liability insurance for camp and proof of this is required on booking.

If you havent got insurance in place a good place to look is British Horse Society or Harry Hall. You may also be covered under Pony Club, Riding Clubs or BE but please check your policies as you will need to require evidence.

Unfortunately Somerford Park run back to back camps so are often unable to offer stabling the night prior to camp.

However I have put together a list of near by yards that offer stabling. This is not part of the camp and must be organised by yourself.
